Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Skin irritation/corrosion Available information is “A skin and strong eye irritant”. This information is of medium adequacy to establish the classification of the substance, since, even if it was reported in a authoritative secondary source “Haz-Map”, it is reported in a SDS and primary source is not available. Mechanistic profile calculated by means QSAR toolbox v v.3.3.2 indicate that the substance does not satisfy the rules of inclusion “Skin irritation/corrosion Inclusion rules by BfR” since it is resulted as “Inclusion rules not met” (the profiler contains 40 categories with structural alerts for skin irritation/corrosion). However the similar identified with CAS 107-19-7 is classified in Annex VI of CLP Regulation as Skin Corr. 1B H314. Trending on skin irritation/corrosion may be hypothesized for the category. As a results of an overall evaluation and based on expert judgment there is a concern for potential skin irritation/corrosion of the substance. Therefore, the substance is classified as Skin Irritant 2 H315. Eye irritation Available information is “A skin and strong eye irritant”. This information is of medium adequacy in order to establish the classification and labelling of the substance, since, even if it was reported in a authoritative secondary source “Haz-Map”, it is reported in a SDS and primary source is not available. Mechanistic profile calculated by means QSAR toolbox v v.3.3.2 indicate that the substance satisfy the rules of inclusion “Eye irritation/corrosion Inclusion rules by BfR” following “Aliphatic monoalcohols” mechanism. According to this mechanism aliphatic monoalcohols with an aliphatic chain from C3 to C11 cause eye damage. Trending of eye irritation/corrosion may be hypothesized for this category, also considering the mechanism “Aliphatic monoalcohols”. As a results of an overall evaluation and based on expert judgment there is a concern for potential eye irritation/corrosion of the substance. Therefore, the substance is classified as Eye Irritant 2 H319.
