After correction with respect to the table given in the consolidated version of Council Directive 67/548/EEC Annex V method A.5. (Harkins-Jordan correction), the final value for the surface tension at 20°C is: 69.5 mN/m

The calibration of the apparatus was carried out using de-ionized water at 20°C.

The surface tension was determined to be 72.467 mN/m.

The calibration factor F was 1.0016, calculated with respect to the literature value for water at 20°C (72.58 mN/m).

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the surface tension of the aqueous solution of the test substance at 20°C was 69.5 mN/m. Due to the fact that the surface tension is higher than 60 mN/m, the test substance has no surface-active properties.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the surface tension of the test substance according to the OECD Guideline 115 and the EU Method A.5, in compliance with GLP.

An aqueous solution of the test item with a concentration of 1.0 g/L was prepared at ambient temperature. After tempering for 3 h at 20°C, the measurement of surface tension was carried out. Six measurements at a temperature of 20 °C, every 5 min, were carried out with the test substance. Before the measurement a calibration of the apparatus was carried out using de-ionized water at 20°C.

Under the study conditions, the surface tension of the aqueous solution of the test substance at 20°C was 69.5 mN/m. Due to the fact that the surface tension is higher than 60 mN/m, the test substance has no surface-active properties.
