In ECHA's Guidance Document on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7c (R.7.10.3.4, p. 23ff) and Chapter R.11 (R.11.1.3.2, p. 27f) it is laid out that several substance properties (e.g. molecular size and weight of substance) can be combined in a weight of evidence approach to evaluate the substance's bioaccumulation potential.

The evaluation of physico-chemical substance properties resulted in measured values of the test substance’s water (≤0.01 mg/L) and octanol solubility (136 g/L) which were used for the calculation of logPow. The retrieved logPow of ≥7.1 at 20°C at pH 6.2 (estimated based on individual solubilities) is above the threshold value of 4 (according to GHS criteria) indicating a potential for bioaccumulation. However, additional on both the molecular diameter (3.56 nm) and the molecular weight (1592 g/mol) clearly indicate that there is a limit bioavailability of the substance and thus there is a low potential for bioaccumulation.

Both values exceed their respective established threshold limits (1.7 nm for molecular diameters and 1100 g/mol for molecular weight) which results in the failure of the molecule to cross cell membranes because it is simply too bulky to do so.

Taking this additional information on both diameter and molecular weight into account, it can be expected that the substance has a low bioaccumulation potential.Thus, accumulation of the test substance in organisms is not expected.
