First-aid measures

General information
Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. First aider: Pay attention to self-protection! Remove affected person from the danger area and lay down.

Following inhalation
Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. In case of inhaling spray mist, consult a physician.

In case of skin contact
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. In case of skin reactions, consult a physician.

After eye contact
In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist.

After ingestion
If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate medical attention. Do NOT induce vomiting. Observe risk of aspiration if vomiting occurs.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media
Carbon dioxide (CO2) , Foam , Water mist , Extinguishing powder

Unsuitable extinguishing media
Full water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon dioxide (CO2) , Carbon monoxide.

Advice for firefighters
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
For non-emergency personnel
Remove all sources of ignition. Provide adequate ventilation. Use personal protection equipment.
For emergency responders
Use personal protection equipment.

Environmental precautions
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
For containment
Cover drains. Prevent spread over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).
For cleaning up
Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents). Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal. Use appropriate respiratory protection. Wear personal protection equipment.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
All work processes must always be designed so that the following is excluded: Inhalation of vapours or spray/mists , Skin contact , Eye contact . Provide adequate ventilation as well as local exhaustion at critical locations. Keep away from sources of ignition. - No smoking. Only wear fitting, comfortable and clean protective clothing. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings. In the immediate working surroundings there must be : Emergency shower installed . Provide eye shower and label its location conspicuously .

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Store in a place accessible by authorized persons only. Only use the material in places where open light, fire and other flammable sources can be kept away.

Specific end use(s)
The substance/product is registered with strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation)and must therefore be handled as such.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls
Reduce exposure to fume by keeping operating temperatures as low as possible taking into account occupational exposure limits and safe handling temperatures. Where practicable handle within an enclosed process. Alternatively local exhaust ventilation should be considered.

Appropriate engineering controls
Technical measures and the application of suitable work processes have priority over personal protection equipment. Reduce exposure to fume by keeping operating temperatures as low as possible taking into account occupational exposure limits and safe handling temperatures. Where practicable handle within an enclosed process. Alternatively local exhaust ventilation should be considered.

Eye/face protection
goggles

Skin protection
When handling with chemical substances, protective clothing with CE-labels including the four control digits must be worn. Required properties : flame-retardant , antistatic. Draw up and observe skin protection programme.

Hand protection
Tested protective gloves must be worn . The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.

Respiratory protection
If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn. Suitable respiratory protection apparatus : Filtering device (full mask or mouthpiece) with filter: ABEK-P3 , Self-contained respirator (breathing apparatus) (DIN EN 133)

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability
The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
The allocation of waste identity numbers/waste descriptions must be carried out according to the EEC, specific to the industry and process. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.

Product/Packaging disposal
Appropriate disposal / Package
Non-contaminated packages may be recycled. Contaminated packages must be completely emptied and can be re-used following proper cleaning. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
