Description of key information

Freitag et al (1985) report a 3 day BCF of 90. This was the highest BCF value for fish identified in the EU RAR for toluene (2003)

Data from a non-standard study (Freitag et al. 1985) and the estimated BCF of 42 calculated following the method of Veith et al (1979) recommended in section of the TGD and based on a log kow of 2.73 both indicate that toluene has a low potential to bioaccumulate.
