Description of key information

Copper and the alloying elements are usually in the metallic forms (Me°). These are insoluble *, need to be transformed into Me-ions to become soluble.
Stirring and oxidation for 14 days of drilled pieces (pH 6.8-8.99) resulted in small amounts ofdissolved metals (usually <1mg/L)
* Special solubility tests were carried out, applicable to environment and human health endpoints. For the environment endpoints, transformation/dissolution tests are carried out- see chapter “additional information on environmental fate”. For the human health endpoints, in vitro bioaccessibility tests (bio-elution tests) are carried out- see chapter - “see toxicokinetics’.
