Description of key information

The NOEC (48h) was determined to be higher than the concentration of a saturated solution of Pigment Yellow 74.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the acute immobilisation test with Daphnia magna (STRAUS) the effect of the saturated solution (nominally 100 mg/L) of the test item (Pigment Yellow 74) was determined according to OECD 202 (1999, Draft) and Directive 92/69/EC Method C.2 (1992). The limit test was conducted under static conditions over 48 h.

Compared to the control, no signs of toxicity could be observed in Daphnia magna with the saturated solution. Therefore, the NOEC (48h) was determined to be higher than the concentration of a saturated solution of Pigment Yellow 74.
