Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
270 °C
Atm. press.:
1 009.3 - 1 010.7 hPa

Preliminary test:

The estimated self-ignition temperature in the preliminary test was 275°C.

Main test:

The results of the main study on the determination of the auto-ignition temperature of the test substance are given in Table 2.

Ignition of the test substance within 5 minutes after introduction was observed with each sample volume and with each test a minimum auto-ignition temperature was obtained. The maximum deviation between the three values was < 10°C. According to the guidelines, no further testing was required.

The lowest temperature at which ignition of the test substance occurred was 274°C. This temperature was rounded off to the nearest multiple of 5°C giving an auto-ignition temperature of the test substance of 270°C.

Conclusions:
A self-ignition temperature of 270°C at 1009.3 – 1010.7 hPa was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol and in compliance with GLP.

Description of key information

Auto-ignition temperature: 270°C at 1009.3 – 1010.7 hPa (EU Method A.15)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
270 °C

Additional information

A measured auto-ignition temperature value of 270°C at 1009.3 - 1010.7 hPa was determined for the registered substance in accordance with EU Method A.15 and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable.
