No tests on soil organisms are provided nor considered necessary, as these tests are not required for substances produced or imported in the tonnage band of 10 -100 t/a. The predicted no effect concentration (PNEC) for soil was derived from the PNEC for freshwater using the equilibrium partitioning method.

Moreover, for substances being considered as „readily“, it can be assumed that they will be completely biologically degraded within the STP process. Furthermore, for substances not passing the STP-process but being readily, it can be assumed that they will be also biological degraded in the surface water within a short time.
