Additional information

One key study is available for each of the following endpoints:

Fish

The acute toxicity of dimethyl sebacate to zebra fish has been investigated in a study comparable to guideline study. No analytical monitoring was performed. 96h-LC50 was determined to be 15 mg/L.

Aquatic invertebrates

The 48h-EC50 for immobilization of Daphnia magna by the test item was 14 mg/L (OECD 202 guideline under semi-static conditions).

The 21d-EC10 for inhibition of juvenile production of Daphnia magna by the test item was 0.33 mg/L (OECD 211 guideline under semi-static conditions).

Algae

The effect of the test item on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been investigated according to OECD 201 guideline over a 72-Hour period and gave the following results based on the time-weighted mean measured test concentrations:

Inhibition of Growth Rate

ErC10 (0 - 72 h): 0.49 mg/L

ErC50 (0 - 72 h): 1.5 mg/L

Microorganisms

The study on toxicity to aquatic microorganisms was waived as the substance is readily biodegradable (OECD 301) under test material concentrations (23.7 mg/L) highly unlikely to be found in a municipal STEP. The risk assessment was performed taking 23.7 mg/L as a key value and applying an assessment factor of 10.
