Direct or indirect exposure of soil compartment is unlikely to occur, therefore according to Column 2 of Annex IX and X of Reach Regulation 1907/2006 soil toxicity tests don't need to be conducted. The risk for secondary poisoning to birds is considered to be low because dodecanedioic acid is readily biodegradable. Furthermore, it was demonstrated in in-vivo tests with rats that the test substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation due to extensive matabolism processes.
