Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short description of key information on bioaccumulation potential result:
Toxicokinetics of dodecandioic acid were investigated in vivo both in experimental rats and in humans following oral or systemic (iv or ip) administration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Bioaccumulation potential:
no bioaccumulation potential

Additional information

Dodecandioic acid was demonstrated in vivo both in rats and human volunteers to be rapidly absorbed fom the gastrointesinal tract. The acid was shown to be introduced into the fatty acid catabolism of the organism and was therefore extensively metabolised. Metabolites are incorporated or metabolised to CO2. Therefore, there is no potential for accumulation.Unchanged or conjugated dodecanedioic acid is not excreted via feces and only to a very low extent via the urine
