Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Thus, the 3-hour NOEC of dicerium tricarbonate to activated sludge microorganisms was at the limit of water solubility of dicerium tricarbonate under the test conditions, or at 1000 mg/L. The 3-hour EC20, EC50 and EC80 were clearly higher than the limit of water solubility of dicerium tricarbonate under the test conditions, or higher than 1000 mg/L.
The test item has no toxic effect on the respiration rate of activated sludge microorganisms at the limit test concentration of 1000 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An experimental study, scored as Klimisch 1 (Grützner, 2006), was selected as a key study; showing no toxic impact on the respiration rate of activated sludge micro-organisms up to the highest concentration tested (i.e. 1000 mg/L)

Cerium carbonate is not toxic for microorganisms.
