Additional information

2-Ethylhexyl salicylate is considered having a half-life in fish of less than a day (category Fast). Therefore, a linear model not considering bio-elimination from the organism is less suitable and instead the method of Arnot and Gobas was used to take this into account, which is built of the Method prepared for the Environmental Protection Agency by Meylan et al. 1997 - 1999.

Thus, a more reliable BCF estimation was received predicting the BCF in fish (upper trophic level) being 123.7 L/kg ww.

Based on the predicted results the substance 2-ethylhexyl salicylate is considered non-bioaccumulative.

Data on terrestrial bioaccumulation are not available.
