Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention In all cases, remove contaminated

clothing

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products will contain carbon oxides and silicon

oxide smoke. Suitable extinguishing agents are carbon

dioxide, sand and foam

Accidental release measures

Handling and storage

Handling: Wear rubber gloves, apron and safety glasses; safety

showers should be available. For prolonged handling, wear

acid resistant clothing. Wear a breathing mask equipped

with a filter for organic vapours if vapour formation is

likely. Shower at the end of work and after handling

substantial quantities.

Storage: Store in a clean, dry, well ventilated area. Keep away from

foodstuffs.Use drums or polyethylene barrels (200 litre)

to yield methanol and oligomers.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Hydrolysis with water at room temperature will destroy the

substance [UK c.a.: hydrolysis products will include

methanol]

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be destroyed by incineration

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Residues from plants using the substance will be discharged

to water treatment plants.
