Description of key information
A study with soil microorganisms is not needed due to exposure considerations.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
In accordance with column 2 of Annex IX of Regulation EC 1907/2006, the study does not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Due to the use of thionyl dichloride in closed systems and its decomposition before being released into the environment, emission into soil can be excluded (please refer to the Chemical Safety Report) and thus, soil microorganisms are not exposed.
