Description of key information

A study on reproductive toxicity in birds is not needed due to exposure considerations

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The study is not considered to be needed as direct and indirect exposure of the soil and aquatic compartment is unlikely (please refer to the Chemical Safety Report). Due to the use of thionyl dichloride in closed systems and its decomposition before being released into the environment, secondary poisoning of birds caused by ingestion of contaminated fish or earthworms can be excluded.
