Additional information

No studies with terrestrial organisms have been performed due to exposure considerations. In accordance with column 2 of Annex IX and X of Regulation EC 1907/2006, short- and long-term studies do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Due to the use of thionyl dichloride in closed systems and its decomposition before being released into the environment, emission of the substance into soil can be excluded (please refer to the Chemical Safety Report) and thus, terrestrial organisms are not at risk and no further hazard assessment is necessary.
