April 22, 1988 to August 12, 1988
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
Guideline study performed in compliance with GLP, available as unpublished report, no restrictions, fully adequate for assessment.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 116 (Fat Solubility of Solid and Liquid Substances)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Directive 84/449/EEC, Annex V, A.7
GLP compliance:
yes
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Name of test material (as cited in study report): Tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide
- Physical state: Solid
- Storage condition of test material: At room temperature in the dark
- Analytical purity: 98 %
- Lot/batch No.: RB82 + RB87 + RB88 + RB92 + RB69
Key result
Medium:
standard fat
Solubility:
ca. 190 g/kg solvent
Temp.:
37 °C
Test substance stable:
yes
Details on results:
- Information on chemical stability: No significant difference were observed between the HPLC chromatograms of the standards and the samples.
- Other: After a shaking period of 24 hours there were no significant differences between the over- and undersaturated solution. Therefore, the fat solubility of the substance was calculated as a mean value from the results of the 24 hours measurements.

Description of key information

The solubility of the substance in standard fat was determined to be 1.9 g/kg at a temperature of 37 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in mg/100g standard fat:
190
At the temperature of:
20 °C
