Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent:
All extinguishing agents normally used.
Product arising from burning:
Sulphur oxides, nitrous gases
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment:
Self-contained respirator, full protective suit
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage:
Ensure good ventilation.
Working procedures must be designed so that exposure by
inhalation and dermal contact is minimized and contact with
the eyes is excluded.
Do not allow the substance to enter aquatic environments/the
soil/drains/the environment.
Neutralize the aqueous solution with bicarbonate.
First moisten the product in order to avoid the formation of
dust or cover with moist, inert material.
Fill into sealable, labelled containers.
Dispose of the solution at an authorized landfill site or at
an incineration plant according to local/national
regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Avoid inhalation of the substance and contact with the skin
and eyes.
In the case of handling in open systems, any dust which
forms should be extracted directly at the point of
origin.
Respirators (e.g. filtering device with P3 filter) should
be worn in cases where technical extraction or ventilation
measures are either not possible or not adequate.
Tested protective gloves and, if necessary, suitable
protective clothing should be worn to avoid contact with the
skin. A safe eye protector is absolutely essential.
Where possible, closed or at least dustproof/splashproof
equipment should be used during filling, metered feeding,
and sampling.
Generally for dusty organic substances a dust explosure
possibility has to be asssumed. Therefore the formation of
dust while handling the dry substance has to be avoided;
provide sufficient ventilation and take measures against
static discharges, in dependence of equipment, handling and
package (eg. by grounding containers, apparatus, pumps and
exhaust ventilation plant etc.).
When using do not eat/drink/smoke. Wash hands before breaks
and after finishing work. Remove contaminated or soaked
clothing.
Storage:
Store in unbreakable and air-tight containers.
Secure container against falling.
Keep the substance dry and cool. Avoid product residues on
containers. Label of empty containers in
accordance with the regulations.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation:
Store in plastic containers or cardboard box with
PE inner sack (50 kg).
