Description of key information

The IC50 of the source substance Alkyl (C12-14) glycidyl ether was determined to be 843.75 mg/L. The NOEC (No Observed Effect Concentration) was determined to be 500 mg/L. These values are considered indicative for 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
843.75 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
500 mg/L

Additional information

Based on the test results of Alkyl (C12-C14) glycidyl ether, the test contration that resulted in 50 % inhibition (IC50) was determined to be 843.75 mg/L with 95 % confidence limits of 582.44-1097.71 mg/L, and the NOEC (No Observed Effect Concentration) was determined to be 500 mg/L. 2-Ethylhexyl glycidyl ether (EC#:219-553-6) is expected to have the same property, thus its IC50 is 843.75 mg/L (95% CL: 582.44 -1097.71 mg/L) and the NOEC is 500 mg/L.
