Conclusions:
The Boiling Point of GALDEN LMW was determined to be between 55.0 °C and 67.8 °C.
Executive summary:

The report collects several historical data deriving from the internal quality control department. Measurements were performed since 2009 to 2012.

Samples were analysed according to the internal method PF 29/39 "Determination of the Reflux Temperature of the Liquid (TRL) and the Vapour (TRV) of Low Boiling Perfluoropolyethers", developed on the adaptation of the standard method ASTM 1120 -94 "Standard Method for Boiling Point of Engine Coolants".

The purpose of the measurements was to determine the reflux temperature of the liquid (TRL) in equilibrium of GALDEN LMW. The TRL value correspond to the boiling point.

The analyzed samples of Galden LMW have a TRL (Boiling Point) between 55.0 °C and 67.8 °C.

Conclusions:
The reported Boiling Point of GALDEN LMW is 70°C.
Executive summary:

The scope of the publication was to analyse perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs) from the point of view of their synthetic chemistry, properties, derivates, and applications. The focus of the publication is on PFPE fluids commercially named FOMBLIN and GALDEN and the information gleaned from first-hand experience are reported. FOMBLIN and GALDEN belong to the same class of PFPEs, the principal difference between the two families is the molecular weight since GALDEN represents the low molecular weight fraction of FOMBLIN. Both of FOMBLIN and GALDEN are fluids at standard conditions.

In the publication the chemical and physical properties of several commercial products of the GALDEN fraction are reported. GALDEN LMW, which itself represents the low molecular weight fraction of the GALDEN fraction is also described with the commercial name of GALDEN HT 70.

The Boiling Point of GALDEN LMW, experimentally determined, is reported to be 70 °C.

Conclusions:
The reported Boiling Point of GALDEN LMW is 55°C.
Executive summary:

The publication describes a general method for the dehalogenation process of fluorinated olefins in a biphasic fluorinated/hydrogenated system.

The optimizing parameters of the reaction are discussed, including the different types of fluorinated solvents that can be used in the biphasic system.

GALDEN LMW is one of the analyzed fluorinated solvents.

In order to roughly describe the fluorinated solvents, their boiling point is reported. For GALDEN LMW (named GALDEN HT 55 in the publication) a boiling point of 55°C is reported.

Description of key information

The boiling point of GALDEN LMW ranges between 55 and 70°C depending on difference in concentration of the individual constituents.

The average Boiling Point value = 62.0°C is set as key value for risk assessment purpose.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
62 °C

Additional information

A collection of historical measurements performed in the internal quality control department and two literature references are reported.

All the sources are considered reliable.

The reported values of Boiling Point range from 55°C to 70°C.

Galden LMW is a multi-constituent substance, the Boiling Point variability is consistent with the potential difference in concentration of the individual constituents.

The average Boiling Point value = 62.0 °C obtained in the key study has been set as key value for risk assessment purpose.
