Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Although no genotoxicity studies have been carried out with EDTA-Zn(NH4)2, several genotoxicity studies are available for other EDTA-compounds such as EDTA-Na2H2, EDTA-Na3H and several metal-chelates. None of these showed genotoxic activity.

Justification for selection of genetic toxicity endpoint

Based on read across with other metal chelates (see read across document in section 13).

Short description of key information:

Several genotoxicity studies are available for EDTA-compounds, including metal compounds.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the absence of genotoxic effects, EDTA-Zn(NH4)2 does not need classification for this endpoint.
