No experimental data from a study on biodegradation in water and sediment (simulation test) are available. Testing has been waived in accordance with column 2 restrictions as the submission item is readily biodegradable as evidenced by Clarke (2011, Harlan Report no. 41103271). The submission item concentrations decreased significantly in all short-term aquatic toxicity studies (Vryenhoef & Mullee 2011, Harlan Report no. 41103269 and Goodband & Mullee 2012, Harlan Reports no. 41103268 and 41103267), but it cannot be decided whether this is due to biotic transformation in the unsterile test media or due to hydrolysis. On the basis of the study for ready biodegradability the submission item and its transformation products can be regarded as rapidly, readily and eventually ultimately biodegradable. Due to their expected short half-lives in environmental waters and sediments the absence of long-term impact to the environment can be concluded.
