Description of key information
Although chronic toxicity/carcinogenicity studies are lacking, the generally negative results from in vitro mutagenicity assays as well as the lack of a recognized carcinogenic determinant, indicate a low concern for carcinogenicity.

Given the generally negative genotoxicity findings from several in vitro assays as well as the lack of a recognized structural determinant of carcinogenicity, dibutyl terephthalate is considered of low concern for carcinogenicity

There were no chronic exposure studies conducted with dibutyl terephthalate identified.
