Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Alchisor TAL 123 can be characterised according to three constituents: Hydrocarbons C11-C14, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-25%), undecan-1-ol and dodecan-1-ol. As defined in the `Approach Justification Document in section 13, data provided for these constituents when considered together is representative of Alchisor TAL 123 and suitable for assessment purposes. Study data for each constituent has been evaluated and considered together. In a protective approach the most sensitive study result from across the three constituents has been identified and used to address the endpoint in question. Below is a brief summary of the endpoints associated with Environmental Fate and Pathways.
Stability
In accordance with Annex X of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, information regarding phototransformation in air, as well as in water and soil, is not mandatory information requirement. At present, data on the hydrolysis of Alchisor TAL 123 and its constituents is unavailable.
In Annex VIII Column 2 of the of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals states that a study on the Hydrolysis as function of pH does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Therefore, a study on the Hydrolysis as function of pH is not required as Alchisor TAL 123 is readily biodegradable.
Biodegradation
In water:
A range of reliable studies show that the constituents of Alchisor TAL 123 (as justified in the Approach Justification Document in Section 13) are all readily biodegradable in water. Therefore Alchisor TAL 123 is also readily biodegradable in water.
In water and sediment:
In accordance with Annex VIII Column 2 of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, the water and sediment simulation testing (required in Section 9.2.1) does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable.
In soil:
In accordance with Annex VIII Column 2 of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, the soil simulation testing (required in Section 9.2.1) does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable.
In mode of biodegradation:
In accordance with the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, `mode of degradation in actual use‘ is not a standard information requirement. There are no reliable data for `mode of degradation in actual use‘ relating to Hydrocarbons C11-C14, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-25%), undecan-1-ol and dodecan-1-ol.
Bioaccumulation
As a consequence of bioaccumulation studies being waived as unsuitable, as for Hydrocarbons C11-C14, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-25%), or technically unfeasible, as for undecan-1-ol and dodecan-1-ol, no reliable measured bioconcentration information is required for constituents of Alchisor TAL 123. The data requirement for bioconcentration/bioaccumulation is being waived for Alchisor TAL 123 on the basis that the studies are waived for all its constituents.
Transport and Distribution
As stated in section 5.2.1, reliable studies have shown that the Alchisor TAL 123 and its constituents are all readily biodegradable in water. According to Annex IX Column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals an absorption/desorption study does not need to be conducted if the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly.
