Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a GLP-compliant, guideline study performed according to OECD guideline 201 with the analogue rosin, fumarated was tested at a temperature appropriate to the test organism Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata as WAF, up to a maximum loading rate of 1000 mg/L. As no effects or inhibition of growth were observed the 72 h EL50for Area Under the Curve (AUC) and Average Specific Growth Rate (0-72 h) was > 1000 mg/L, the highest loading rate tested. Both the Average Specific Grow b Rate and the AUC in the test treatments were greater than in the control group for 0 to 72 h. Hence the No Observed Effect Loading Rate (NOELr) for Average Specific Growth Rate and AUC was 1000 mg/L, under the conditions of the test. Due to the structural and chemical-physical similarities, the results could also be expected for resin acids and rosin acids, fumarated, compds. with triethanolamine.

A product containing 30% resin acids and rosin acids, fumarated, compds. with triethanolamine was tested in a study conducted in accordance with OECD 201 (Koller-Kreime and Kohl, 1990). Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata was exposed for 72 hours to 12 concentrations ranging from 0.001 to 100 mg/L nominal load. Based on observed growth inhibition the 72h-EC50 was estimated to be 74 mg/L (ca. 25mg/L as active). This test is considered invalid in absence of data on growth rate in controls.

The available data on resin acids and rosin acids, fumarated, compds. with triethanolamine itself and data on the analogue rosin, fumarated show that the ECr50 were found above the water solubility of < 1 mg/L.
