A control plus at least 5 concentrations were selected on a basis of a logarithmic expansion. - Details on test conditions:
- Before testing, fishes from a single stock of similar lenght and age are adapted to laboratory conditions in 200 L tanks filled with hard water for at least 12 days. They were fed twice daily, ceasing 24h before initiation of the test.
photoperiod: 14h daylight/ 10h darkness
TEST SYSTEM
- Test vessel: 1L beakers filled with 1L of test solution
- fishes are transferred to new test medium after 48 and 96h
- Aeration: gentle bubble aeration
- No. of organisms per vessel: 5
- No. of vessels per concentration (replicates): duplicate

- Executive summary:
Zebrafish; Danio rerio were exposed to a control and at least 5 measured vanadium concentrations during 96h under static conditions and in a way similar to the guidelines. The 96h-LC50 for mortality was determined to be 4 mg V/L (geometric mean of 3 replicates).
