Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Abiotic degradation

No determination was possible according to Method 111 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 13 April 2004, for the following reason: - During preliminary investigations for the water solubility test, it was concluded that the test item hydrolyses immediately upon contact with water. Substances which hydrolyse rapidly in contact with water are not suitable for determination using Method 111. In accordance with Annex XI section 2 of the Regulation EC 1907/2006, testing for a specific endpoint may be omitted, if it is technically not possible to conduct the study as a consequence of the properties of the substance. In the water solubility test, a white precipitate was formed immediately on shaking. Analysis by MS indicated a spectrum indicative of the test item in the form of a dimer or similar species. The indications are that the compound is insoluble and hydrolyses immediately on contact with water.

Biotic degradation

Based on read-across from a number of structurally similar compounds, it can be concluded that dibutyldibutoxy stannane is not readily biodegradable. Simulation tests are not available. In the absence of such information dibutyldibutoxy stannane is concluded to be stable to biodegradation.
