experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
from 1998-01-07 to 1998-04-28
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
The study is regarded as reliable without restrictions because it was conducted in compliance with GLP regulation and guideline.

Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
1.8
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: with a 95 % confidence range of 1.17 to 2.24.
Details on results:
Three main peaks were observed from the test substance and the main peak deteriorated with time indicating that some degradation occurred.
Conclusions:
The log Pow of the test item Incozol LV was determined to be 1.8 with a 95 % confidence range of 1.17 to 2.24.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 117 and Directive 92/69/EEC method A.8 to determine the log Pow of the test item. The partition coefficient was estimated by the HPLC method using isocratic elution. The HPLC column was calibrated for partition coefficient against retention time using calibration substances of known partition coefficients dissolved in appropriate mobile phase. Duplicate estimations were performed for each series. The test substance was dissolved in mobile phase and the retention time recorded. The estimated partition coefficient was calculated from the calibration graph obtained using the calibration substances. The log Pow of the test item Incozol LV was determined to be 1.8 with a 95 % confidence range of 1.17 to 2.24.
