Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A relevant potential of oleic-acid based IQAC, DMS quaternised to bioaccumulate in the terrestrial compartment is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There are no experimental results for terrestrial bioaccumulation. There is no calculation model for the estimation of terrestrial bioaccumulation. Taking into account the test and calculation results for aquatic bioaccumulation, the fast hydrolysis and inherent biodegradability in water, demonstrating the ability of organisms to metabolize oleic-acid based IQAC DMS quaternised as well as the results of three toxicokinetical studies with mammals (rats) indicating poor absorption (dermal and intestinally) and fast elimination, and also taking into account the medium to very high sorption of oleic-acid based IQAC, DMS quaternised onto soil, a relevant potential of oleic-acid based IQAC, DMS quaternised to bioaccumulate in the terrestrial compartment is not expected.
