Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Direct photolysis will not contribute to the degradation of the reaction products of 1-decene, 1-dodecene, and 1-octene, hydrogenated in the aquatic environment because it does not absorb light at wavelengths in the 290-750 nm range which contributes to the photodegradation process.
Executive summary:

The reaction products of 1-decene, 1-dodecene, and 1-octene, hydrogenated is a fully saturated branched alkane hydrocarbon material that does not absorb light within a range of 290 to 750 nm. Therefore, direct photolysis will not contribute to the degradation of the reaction products of 1-decene, 1-dodecene, and 1-octene, hydrogenated in the aquatic environment because it does not absorb light at wavelengths >290 nm.
