Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Acute toxicity of P-PP was assessed with acute immobilisation test on Daphnia magna, over an exposure period of 48 hours in a static system.

Based on the results of the preliminary range-finding test five test concentrations in a geometric series with a separation factor of 2 and one untreated control were tested in the main experiment.

The nominal concentrations of test item used in the main experiment were: 0.63, 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10 mg/L.

Test concentrations were analytically determined at the start and at the end of the test. As the measured concentrations did not deviate more than 20 per cent from the nominal in all cases, biological results are based on the nominal concentrations.

Twenty animals, divided into four groups (glass beakers) of five animals were used for the test and for the control groups.

The 24 and 48 hours EC50 were calculated using Probit analysis by TOXSTAT PC+ software. The 48 hours LOEC and NOEC values were determined directly from the raw data.

All validity criteria were met during this study.

Under the conditions of this Daphnia magna acute immobilisation study the calculated and observed end points for the effect of P-PP were the followings:

- The 24h EC50 value: 3.73 mg/L(with 95% conf. limits: 3.40 - 4.10 mg/L)

- The 48h EC50 value: 2.21 mg/L(with 95% conf. limits: 2.05 - 2.39 mg/L)

-The 48h No-Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC): 0.63 mg/L

- The 48h Lowest Observed Effect Concentration (LOEC): 1.25 mg/L
