Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects against daphnia were observed at the limit of water of solubility under exposure conditions.

Additional information

A study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of Triazin UV-Absorber to Daphnia magna STRAUS. The study was conducted in accordance with the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 202 'Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test' (adopted April 13, 2004).

The Daphnia were exposed to concentrations of nominally 1.0 mg/L; 10 mg/L; 100 mg/L of Triazin UV-Absorber dissolved in water and a blank control (0 mg/ L).

Auxiliaries used to prepare the test item was a blade mill and for the test media a magnetic stirrer.

Observations were made on the swimming ability and the immobilisation rate after 24 and 48 hours of exposure. In this 48-hour acute toxicity study the following immobility values were determined based on nominal concentrations:

after 48 h

EC 0 [mg/L]       > 100

EC 50 [mg/L]     > 100

EC 100 [mg/L]   > 100

No toxic effects against daphnia were observed at the limit of water solubility.
