Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Diallyl 2,2´-oxydiethyl dicarbonate, the main ingredient of RAV 7NG, was investigated regarding abiotic hydrolysis as a function of pH according to OECD guideline 111 (Mullee, 2005). A nominal concentration of 0.05 g/L of the test substance was used. The test was performed at different temperatures and the following sterile buffer solutions: pH 4 (phtalate buffer), pH 7 (phosphate buffer), and pH 9 (borate buffer). HPLC with MS detection was used to analyze the substance at the beginning and the end of the test. An increase of the hydrolysis rate will occur with increasing pH values. The following half-lives were obtained at 25 °C: t1/2 (pH 4) > 1 year, t 1/2 (pH 7) = 280 days, and t1/2 (pH 9) = 68.4 hours.

Since RAV 7NG contains as main ingredient 'diallyl 2,2'oxydiethyl dicarbonate', the experimental data from this substance were used in a read-across approach.
