Description of key information

In an OECD 219 study on the effect of the cloquintocet-mexyl on the respiration of activated sewage sludge, Clarke (2009) reported a No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) after 3 hours exposure was 1000 mg/L (i.e. the highest concentration tested).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

The effect of the cloquintocet-mexyl on the respiration of activated sewage sludge was investigated in a GLP compliant study performed according to OECD Guideline 209 (Clarke, 2009). The study is considered to be reliable without restriction. The effect of the test material on the respiration of activated sewage sludge micro-organisms gave a 3-Hour EC50 of greater than 1000 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) after 3 hours exposure was 1000 mg/L (i.e. the highest concentration tested). In this case, the NOEC of 1000 mg/L is selected for use in the chemical safety assessment.
