Description of key information

The explosiveness of the test item was determined according to an expert judgement.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

On the basis of the test item's chemical structure as given in the sponsor's certificate of analysis, there are no chemical groups in the product associated with explosive properties as quoted in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5/Appendix 6 (2009), page 440 or Bretherick's Handbook (6th edition, Volume 2, pp. 128), which may indicate explosive properties. Therefore it can be concluded by expert judgement that this test item has not to be classified as to class 1 (explosives) according to the UN Recommendations of the Transport of Dangerous Goods.

Due to an energy release below -800 J/g it can be excluded that the sample propagates a detonation.
