Details on study design:
A total of 32 or 40 animals in 4 or 5 dosage groups containing 8 animals each were used in determing the toxicity. The number of animals dying within 24 hr served as data for plotting a dose-lethality curve and the LD50 and 19/20 confidence limits were calculated according to the method of Litchfield and wolcoxon (1949).
