First-aid measures

Do not leave affected person unattended. Remove victim out of the danger area. Keep affected person warm, still and covered. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical advice. In case of unconsciousness place person in the recovery position. Never give anything by mouth.

- After inhalation:

Supply fresh air. If symptoms are experienced, get medical attention. In case of unconsciousness, place patient stably in side position for transportation.

- After skin contact:

IRRITANT SENSITISER: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. rinse with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation or skin rash occurs.  Wash clothing before reuse. Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse.

- After eye contact:

IRRITANT: Immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Do not allow water to flow into the uncontaminated eye. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of cool low-pressure water for several minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists.

- After ingestion:

ASPIRATION HAZARD Do NOT induce vomiting. If person is conscious, rinse  mouth and spit out with water. Obtain medical advice immediately.

HARMFUL: IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed eg redness, eczema-like reactions ...

Monitor for delayed pulmonary oedema (with or without vomiting).

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing agents: Water spray, Foam, BC-powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Unsuitable extinguishing agents: Dense water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance: In case of insufficient ventilation and/or in use, may form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture. Places which are not ventilated, e.g. unventilated below ground level areas such as trenches, conduits and shafts, are particularly prone to the presence of flammable substances or mixtures.

Hazardous combustion products: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2)

FLAMMABLE: Advice for firefighters: In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Coordinate firefighting measures to the fire surroundings. Do not allow firefighting water to enter drains or water courses. Collect contaminated firefighting water separately. Fight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance. Respiratory protection. Self-protection of the first aider.

Accidental release measures

Person-safety precautions:

SKIN AND EYE IRRITANT. SKIN SENSITISER: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/ face protection. Avoid breathing fume/mist/vapours/spray. After contact with skin, take off immediately all contaminated clothing, and wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Open windows, door, to allow sufficient ventilation. If this is not possible employ a fan to increase air exchange

Follow emergency procedures such as the need to evacuate the danger area or to consult an expert. Evacuate unprotected persons to safe areas. Provide adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition.

Measures for environmental protection:

Keep away from drains, surface and ground water. Retain contaminated washing water and dispose of it. If substance has entered a water course or sewer, inform the responsible authority.

Measures for cleaning/collecting:

Advices on how to contain a spill: Covering of drains

Advices on how to clean up a spill: Wipe up with absorbent material. Collect spillage:  Kieselgur (diatomite), Sand, Universal binder

Appropriate containment techniques: Use of inert adsorbent materials.

Other information relating to spills and releases: Place in appropriate containers for disposal with suitable labelling. Do NOT re-use. Ventilate affected area.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

SKIN AND EYE IRRITANT. SKIN SENSITISER. ASPIRATION HAZARD. Wash hands after use. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/ face protection. Avoid breathing fume/mist/vapours/spray. Provide adequate ventilation where the product is handled.

Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Never keep food or drink in the vicinity of chemicals. Never place chemicals in containers that are normally used for food or drink. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.

- Measures to prevent fire as well as aerosol and dust generation:

Use local and general ventilation. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Avoidance of ignition sources. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Due to danger of explosion, prevent leakage of vapours into cellars, flues and ditches.

Conditions for safe storage:

Store locked up in a cool well-ventilated location. Keep container tightly sealed. No smoking. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other gnition sources.  Store at temperatures not exceeding 25 °C. Keep cool.Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Store contents under inert gas to avoid oxidasing. Respect general rules for compatibility storage.
