Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
> 0 - < 0 min
Remarks on result:
other: Melting to a clear liquid and burned with an orange flame and stayed at the same posi-tion. Afterwards the test item charred and the flame died. No ignition within two minutes was observed.

Safety Pre-Test

The test substance started to melt to a clear liquid and started to boil. Afterwards it charred with a big sooting flame.

Preliminary Screening Test

In the preliminary screening test following the EU and the UN method, the test substance was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Melting to a clear liquid and burned with an orange flame and stayed at the same position. Afterwards the test item charred and the flame died. No ignition within two minutes was observed.

Results

No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test.

The test substanceFosfotex C16/18 DEA should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations).

No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.

Interpretation of results:
other: not flammable
Conclusions:
not flammable
Executive summary:

The test substance Fosfotex C16/18 DEAshould be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations).

Description of key information

Not flammable

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The test item should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations) according to EU A.10 method.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item was performed according to A.10. as a screening test. The test resulted not flammable therefore, no CLP 1272/2008/EC is necessary or additional testing is needed.
