Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: well performed study according to acknowledged standard
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: VDI 2263 sheet 1
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
acid blue 182 incl inorg salts
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
ca. 280 °C
Remarks on result:
other: pure substance
Conclusions:
In the screening test according to Grewer with the pure product several weak endothermal effects were observed in the temperature range 50 – 280 °C. At a temperature of approximately 280 °C the beginning of an exothermal effect was observed. Self-heating led to a temperature >600 °C.
In the screening test with the kieselgur mixture (1:1) an exothermal effect was detected starting at 290 °C. Self-heating led to a temperature of approximately 600 °C.

Self-heating was detected starting at approximately 280 °C.

UN Transport Regulations: Due to the results from the Grewer-Oven-Test the substance has not to be classified as “self-heating substance” (class 4.2).
EU-GHS/CLP: Due to the results from the Grewer-Oven-Test the substance has not to be classified as “self-heating substance”.
Executive summary:

The substance was tested for autoflammability according to VDI 2263 sheet 1 (screening in the Grewer oven).

Self-heating was detected starting at approximately 280 °C.
