First-aid measures

Inhalation:
-In case of accident by inhalation: remove casualty to fresh air and keep at rest
-Victim to lie down in the recovery position, cover and keep him warm
-Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed
-If symptoms persist, call a physician

Eye contact:
-Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 mniutes
-In the case of difficulty of opening the lids, administer an analgesic eye wash (oxybyprocaine)
-Immediate medical attention is required

Special exposure hazards in a fire:
-Highly flammable
-Vapours are havier than air and may spread along floors
-Risk of ignition
-Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air
-Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
-Evacuate personnel to safe areas
-Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit
-Fire fighters must wear fire resistant personnel protective equipment
-Protect intervention team with a water spray as they approach the fire
-Clean contamined surface thoroughly

Other information:
-Cool containers/tanks with water spray
-Flood the product with water
-Avoid propagating the fire when directing the extinguishing agent as a jet onto the surface of the burning liquid

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
-Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so
-Vapours are havier than air and can cause suffocation by reducing oxygen available for breathing
-Wear self-contained breathing apparatus in confined spaces, in cases where the oxygen level is depleted, or in case of significant emissions
-Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition
-Cover the spreading liquid with foam in order to slow down the evaporation
-Keep away from incompatible products
-Ventilate the area
-Refer to protective measures listed below

Environmental precautions:
-Should not be released into the environment
-If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities

Methods for cleaning up:
-Dam up
-Soak up with inert absorbent material
-Prevent product from entering drains
-Keep in properly labelled containers
-Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal
-Treat recovered material as described in the section "Disposal considerations"

Handling and storage

Handling:
-Use only in well-ventilated areas
-Used in closed system
-Handle small quantities under a lab hood
-Keep away from heat and sources of ignition
-Prevent product vapours decomposition from contacting hot spots
-Prevent product vapours decomposition from electric arc action (welding)
-Preferably transfer by pump or gravity
-Transfer using a pump equipped for collection and return of gas/vapour
-Do not use compressed air for transferring or handling the product
-Use only equipment and materials which are compatible with the product
-No sparking tools should be used
-Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking
-Keep away from incompatible products

Storage:
-Store in orignal container
-Keep contained closed
-Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place
-Keep away from heat and sources of ignition
-Keep away from incompatible products
-Keep in a bunded area

Specific use(s):
-For futher information, please contact: Supplier

Packaging material:
-Steel drum

Other information:
-Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces - No smoking
-Provide electrical equipment safe for hazardous locations
-Ensure all equipment is electrically grounded before beginning transfer operations
-Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge
-To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat
-Refer to protective measures listed below
