Description of key information

In contact with water the substance will hydrolyse slowly.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The hydrolysing properties of LIMUS-Sambaydestillation, the reaction mass of phosphorothioic triamide, N-butyl- (NBPT) and phosphorothioic triamide, N-propyl- (NPPT) were

examined in a guideline study according to OECD 111. In this study the hydrolysing properties of NBPT and NPPT were investigated for both compounds separately. Results of the study show that rapid hydrolysis of both substances occurs under acidic conditions (pH 4) only. At the environmentally relevant pH 7 however, both substances (and NPPT) just slowly reacts with water.
