- According to column 2 of Annex X, section 9.6.1 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 the performance of long-term toxicity or reproductive toxicity tests on birds should be carefully considered taking into account the large mammalian dataset that is available for this tonnage level (> 1000 t/a). Since this endpoint concerns vertebrate testing, Annex XI to REACH also applies, encouraging the use of alternative information. Long-term or reproductive toxicity tests on birds do not need to be conducted due to the facts that - a mammalian dataset is available - direct exposure to soil is unlikely - secondary poising is not of relevance for this substance
