Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure of the ester structures: 2.04 - 15.4 Pa at 25°C
Vapour pressure of rosin: 6 Pa at 20°C (extrapolation)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
6 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Using MPBPWIN the vapour pressure was calculated for the test substance represented by three representative ester structures and found to be in the range of 2.04 - 15.4 Pa at 25 °C. For rosin a study at elevated temperatures is available showing a vapour pressure of 10800 Pa at 200°C. It is expected that the vapour pressure of rosin represents the worst case estimate as rosin is the smallest component in the UVCB and present in the highest percentage. In addition the vapour pressure of rosin is within the range found for the ester components that were modelled.
