Executive summary:

The density of the test item was determined in accordance with OPPTS 830.7300 and OECD guideline 109.

The density was determined with a calibrated gas comparison pycnometer at a temperature of 20 ± 0.01 °C. The volume of the sample chamber (24.9 cm³) as well as the volume of the reference chamber (21.3 cm³) were exactly known. The free volume of the sample chamber into which the gas was expanded can be calculated by the ideal gas law. With the free gas volume of the sample chamber, the volume of the test item in the sample chamber could be calculated by subtracting the free gas volume from the total chamber volume. By measuring the mass of the test item, the density was determined. The relative density was obtained by dividing the measured density of the test item by the density of water at 4 °C (0.9999750 g/cm³). Two tests with different amounts of the test item were run.

The mean density of the test item at 20 °C is 1.20138 g/cm³; therefore, the relative density was calculated to be 1.201 at 20 °C.
