Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute lethal toxicity to Poecitia reticutata was investigated under static exposure conditions over a period of 96 h. The nominal concentrations of test item were 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg/l, respectively. All fish died at the nominal concentration of 100 mg/l after 24 h of exposure. After 96 h of exposure a total of 2 of 7 fish were dead at the nominal concentration of 50 mg/l. No mortality was observed at 25, 12.5 and 6.25 mg/l, respectively and in the control after 96 h of exposure. Other toxic effects than mortality, e.g. loss of coordination, hypoactivity and swimming on the back, were not observed. Based on these data the nominal lethal concentration (LC50) to Poecilia reticulata was calculated to be 55.2 mg/l; the no-observed-effect concentration (NOEC)was 25 mg/l (Clariant SE, 2002).

No chemical analysis of the test concentrations was performed, however considering that the substance is very water soluble (i.e. 59.14 g/l at 20 °C and pH 6.98) and it not readily abiotically either biotically degradable, it is expected that it would be stable in water for the whole test period.
