Additional information

The position of the Enzyme consortium (Enzymes REACH Consortium, 2010) states that the enzymes are proteins produced by fermentations or extracted for subsequent uses (i.e. usually in solution or in salt form), they are not associated with explosive properties. Lysozyme hydrochloride is commercialized both as granular and liquid form; the specific investigation on the granular form showed that lysozyme hydrochloride powder is a low reactive powder.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Lysozyme hydrochloride is not associated with explosive properties, thus it is not classified as explosive, according to the CLP Regulation (EC1272/2008).
