First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
General advice: Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. If someone exposed to the product feels unwell, contact a doctor and show this safety data sheet.

In case of Inhalation: In the event of symptoms bring the patient to fresh air.

In case of Skin contact: In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists.

In case of Eye contact: Rinse the affected eye immediately with plenty of water at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected. In case of irritation consult an oculist.

In case of Ingestion: In case of problems seek medical advice and show the package or label.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media : water spray jet
foam

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during firefighting
In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous gases (NOx), Sulphur dioxide (SO2)

Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Well closed full protective clothing (coat and pants) including
helmet. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Environmental precautions
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Avoid subsoil penetration.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up: Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust.
Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing environmental regulations.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation.
Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Advice on protection against
fire and explosion: Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge.
Avoid shock and friction.
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. In principle, with organic products which are -intentionally or unintentionally- in powdered form, the danger of a dust explosion should be kept in mind.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Further information on storage conditions: Protect from light. Container should not be closed air-tight.
Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place. Store in a dry place.

Advice on common storage: Keep away from food and drink.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters
Components with workplace control parameters
Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

Exposure controls
Engineering measures
Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection : Use respiratory protection in case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure. Wear dust mask when handling large quantities

Hand protection : Chemical resistant gloves according to category III of DIN EN 374
Remarks: With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.

Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles

Skin and body protection: protective clothing

Hygiene measures: When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Keep away from food and drink.
Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
Use barrier skin cream.

Protective measures: Do not inhale dust.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.
Keep product away from skin, as it will colour it yellow quite intensively.

Environmental exposure controls
General advice: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Avoid subsoil penetration.

Stability and reactivity

Possibility of hazardous reactions
Hazardous reactions : Reactions with alkalies.
Reactions with oxidising agents.
Exothermic reaction.

Conditions to avoid
Ignition Sources; Heat, Spark, Or Flame
Oxidizers and alkalis.

Incompatible materials
Materials to avoid : no data available

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
Product: Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal
plant.

Contaminated packaging: Dispose of as unused product.
