Hydrolysis

No hydrolysis or other abiotic degradation of Neo Heliopan® AP was noticeable during testing in accordance to regulation (EC) 1272/2006 Annex VII and VIII.

Atmospheric degradation

Considering the quantitative relevance of volatilisation as a route of elimination, an assessment of abiotic degradation via atmospheric degradation is needed. Using AOPWIN (v1.92), the reaction half-life with OH-radicals in the atmosphere was estimated at 1.6 days (~19 hours) by (1.5*106OH cm-3; 12 h day-1), indicating a degradation of volatilised material. As the substance has a half-life in air < 2 days, it is not expected to stay in the atmosphere for long and there is a limited potential for long range atmospheric transport.
